DR ROCKET INC.
Uses a 100 watt YAG laser to do its engraving. The beam is generated in a
laser housing. It then passes through a series of mirrors and lenses and
is focused at the point of contact. We adjust the power of the laser beam
and the speed of the Scan head to obtain different burn characteristics. For
our Dr Rocket motor cases we use a two burn process. The first is a deep high
intensity burn to that goes several thousands into the case. This exposes the
unanodized aluminum. Then we do a cleaning pass to burn off the grayish
hue left by the intense heat of the first burn. This brightens up the mark and
gives it luster.
