| CLEANING CLOSURES |
THIS IS A MUST ITEM FROM DR ROCKET INC.
- USED TO CLEAN THE INSIDE OF THE LONGER 38mm HARDWARE AND THE DIFFICULT TO
REACH 29mm HARDWARE.
- THOROUGH CLEANING OF YOUR HARDWARE AFTER USE IS A MUST FOR FUTURE
SUCCESSFUL FLIGHTS. RETAINED RESIDUES CAN PREVENT GOOD SEALING OF THE
O-RINGS AND RESULT IN GAS LEAKAGE AND MOTOR FAILURE.
- DOUBLE THREADED SO THAT ONE CLOSURE WORKS FOR ALL.
- ANODIZED BLACK AND OF COURSE LASER ETCHED.
HOW TO USE THE CLEANING CLOSURES:
- THE O-RINGS FROM THE AFT CLOSURE OF THE 29MM RELOAD KIT. ARE PLACED
IN THE GROVE BETWEEN THE KNURLED AREA AND THE THREADED AREA OF THE CLOSURE.
- THE 0-RING FROM THE 38mm SEAL DISC IS PLACED IN THE SAME GROOVE ON THE
38MM SIDE OF THE CLOSURE
- ALL LINERS AND MAJOR PIECES OF RESIDUE ARE REMOVED MANUALLY FROM THE FIRED
MOTOR.
- ONE OF THE CLOSURES IS THREADED INTO THE CASE. SEATING THE O-RING AGAINST
THE EDGE OF THE CASE.
- THE LEAD SHOT AGITATORS ARE THEN ADDED WITH ONE TO TWO OUNCES OF CLEANING
SOLUTION. (FOR CLEANING SOLUTIONS WE USE EITHER HOPPES #9 OR VINEGAR).
- THE OTHER CLOSURE IS THEN TIGHTEN ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE.
- THE MIXTURE IS THEN SHAKEN AND NOT STIRRED.
- AFTER AN AMPLE AGITATION THE CONTENTS OF THE MOTOR ARE DISCARDED (EXCEPT
FOR THE LEAD SHOT WHICH IS REUSED)
